John Berger's Biography
Member Info
I'm deeply concerned with issues related to the wise and sustainable use of energy and natural resources, particularly as regards protection of climate, forests, oceans, and biodiversity. I've devoted most of my career in one way or another to writing, consulting, and teaching about renewable energy, environmental restoration, and climate as well as organization-building. (More on this under "Work & Education.) In terms of my personal life, I reside in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay hills) and love having easy access to places like Golden Gate and Point Reyes National Seashores, Mt. Diablo, Mt. Tamalpais, Tilden Park, and the Sierra. My extracurricular interests include Ballroom, West Coast Swing and expressive dancing, listening to music and playing guitar, hiking, swimming, camping, river rafting, Alaska, playing tennis, cycling, hot springs, watching movies, reading widely, and traveling with my two boys.
