My office moved again today. Only about 14 months after the last move to rented auxillary space, we're back at the main office - shoved in among the other departments.
What is it about that transition time during moves when anything goes? Oooh, there's a wipe-board wall calendar in my new cubicle - it's mine. Ech, the chair in the new cube is horrible - where's my old one? This drawer is full of paper clips and mini-stickie notes - dump them in the empty cube's drawer. Quick, go out to the moving truck and grab the trashcan you didn't mark as yours; there isn't one in your new cube. This file cabinet is empty? Hmm, I'll move it over here. Full!
It's almost like a game of musical chairs. Grown ups waiting for the music to stop to grab the chair they've had their eye on. What fun!
