BYOB. Bring Your Own BOOK.
Inspired by Seattle's popular silent Reading Party, the idea is this: gather in a public place and read a book of your choosing (to yourself). Our first one was so successful we've planned three at the end of May. A mixer with local writers and fellow readers lasts 45 minutes then quiet reading time begins. "Like" the Facebook page for The Bookup or follow @TheBookup on Twitter for updates on who will be there.
Read Danielle Hatfield's blog about the debut Bookup that includes Maya Angelou's statement of support and what about 40 people were reading: www.gsotweetup.com/2011/04/meet-who-you-tweet-jomaeder-and-thebookup/ Very interesting!
Come and be part of a new social and reading experience. And thank you RedRoom for your support.
