To farzana's blog about robotic surgery I have commented as below. What do you think?
Farzana,to my knowledge till date there are no absolute robot preformed surgeries going on in any country.Robotic surgery in layman terms are very different in real terms. There are always a doctor who monitor and handle the robotic instruments. It is being planned, adjusted, designed and discussed very previously.
But,I don't like the whole idea.I wouldn't even like my car to be checked computerize if other option is available. For certain reasons.
1-Whom will you sue in case some thing goes wrong by real error?
2-You can not say thanks to robot, or present your painting or dedicate your eulogy to robot, as in my case I did to my by-pass surgeon Dr.Anil Jain.
3- Many times during surgery, decision of cut, graph, choosing to go further or not for corrective surgery is solely depends on Doctor's [human] mind, seeing the situation of patient and his back ground.
4- Robot will never realize that wife and daughter of patient is waiting out side, shredding tears.
5- Robot will not come out of O.T and tells you, "I am happy Mrs. so-and-so, your husband is saved, you need not to worry from now on"
6-People with real heart and brain should be treated by doctors with real heart and brain. We can permit machine to treat machines only or 'politicians' at the most.
