One Year With Redroomers.

This is my 34th blog on Redroom in one year.My profile page describes almost 10,000 hits all together.Nearly before one year on 8th December 2008 I came to know about Redroom while surfing the net. I became a member on the same day and posted my first blog ' Where are we heading towards'.

                  http://www.redroom.com/blog/jiturajgor/where-are-we-heading-towards

Someone might have read it but had not posted any comment. Then I started commenting on other's blog. First responce was from 'Susan Brown' on her blog ' Merry-Christmas'

                  http://www.redroom.com/blog/aninnymou/and-merry-christmas-all

My heart was filled with joy. That was my first solid step towards writing. Then I met Heather, Ellen,Luciana and Pat Montandon and my journey continued to Mary [Amber Lady] Belle, Farzana, Sumathi, Steve, wonderful couple Gina and Ryoma, Kristine, Sherry, Wende, Ron, Abdul Waheb [Hombre], Oswald, Keiko, Rebb, Shanti,Dorraine, Catherine,Talia, Evie and many others.

I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude when Ivory sent her book 'Huntress' as a gift to my home address bearing huge overseas courier charges. I was not expecting some thing like this to me, a just beginner in writing field. I met a generous man like Huntington who was always positive to my queries and suggestions.

Patsy, Mary, Farzana, and Luciana, these four decent personalities  have very much influenced my writing. My writing skill has been honed by them and if ever I will have any thing published, credit will go to them. I know Sumathi you are furious and can imagine your face in rage for I am not writing about you. You are a 'Gem in the crown' of my Redroom friends. I have learned from you to cherish every moment in life. I knew some times you were writing here in between the physical pain and suffering of illness.Being an Indian I feel very nearer to you.Keiko has reopened my interest for Sanskrit, and Ellen has for women's right. I thank both of you for that. In thinking I consider my self very nearer to Mary and Heather.I enjoy reading both of them.

But these  all couldn't have been possible without the kind support of Redroom team. MY heartily thanks to all of you over there in RR office and wishes for new year. Merry Christmas.

Wonderful!

Red Room wouldn't be the same without our Dr. Jitu. Thank you so much for creating that lovely assemblage of the faces I've gotten to know and value every day. Happiest of holidays and of new years to you!

This is Precious!

Yes!  And as Huntington said; Red Room wouldn't be the same without you Dr. Jitu!  Congratulations on One Year here in the Red Room.

I know how you feel. I love the Red Room. We have a lot in common - I have been here for one year too, since October 2008.   I am learning so much about writing from everyone here.  I am grateful. It's truly wonderful.

We appreciate all "your" wisdom you share so freely with all of us. (I love seeing my face among all the Red Room Stars. Thank you for including me:-)

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Truly,

Catherine Nagle

Oh, Jitu, what a lovely tribute...

it reminds me of this poem by Raymond Carver:

My Boat

My boat is being made to order. Right now it’s about to leave
The hands of its builders. I’ve reserved a special place
for it down at the marina. It’s going to have plenty of room
on it for all my friends: Richard, Bill, Chuck, Toby, Jim, Hayden,
Gary, George, Harold, Don, Dick, Scott, Geoffrey, Jack,
Paul, Jay, Morris, and Alfredo. All my friends! They know who they are.
Tess, of course. I wouldn’t go anyplace without her.
And Kristina, Merry, Catherine, Diane, Sally, Annick, Pat, Judith, Susie, Lynne, Annie Jane, Mona.
Doug and Amy! They’re family, but they’re also my friends,
and they like a good time. There’s room on my boat
for just about everyone. I’m serious about this!
There’ll be a place on board for everyone’s stories.
My own, but also the ones belonging to my friends.
Short stories, and the ones that go on and on. The true
and the made-up. The ones already finished, and the ones still being written.
Poems, too! Lyric poems, and the longer, darker narratives.
For my painter friends, paints and canvases will be on board my boat.
We’ll have fried chicken, lunch meat, cheeses, rolls,
French bread. Every good thing that my friends like and I like.
And a big basket of fruit, in case anyone wants fruit.
In case anyone wants to say he or she ate an apple,
or some grapes, on my boat. Whatever my friends want,
name it, and it’ll be there. Soda pop of all kinds.
Beer and wine, sure. No one will be denied anything, on my boat.
We’ll go out into the sunny harbor and have fun, that’s the idea.
Just have a good time all around. Not thinking
about this or that or getting ahead or falling behind.
Fishing poles if anyone wants to fish. The fish are out there!
We may even go a little way down the coast, on my boat.
But nothing dangerous, nothing too serious.
The idea is simply to enjoy ourselves and not get scared.
We’ll eat and drink and laugh a lot, on my boat.
I’ve always wanted to take at least one trip like this,
with my friends, on my boat. If we want to
we’ll listen to Schumann on the CBC.
But if that doesn’t work out, okay,
we’ll switch to KRAB, The Who, and the Rolling Stones.
Whatever makes my friends happy! Maybe everyone
will have their own radio on my boat. In any case,
we’re going to have a big time. People are going to have fun,
and do what they want to do, on my boat.

What best can life give me as a Christmas present than this honor you have given me among your Red room friends.

Ah! Jitu Dada, you make me emotional. I just get this big brother feeling from you, that's so very wonderful to feel.

"Did a tear of pleasure run down my cheek? Yes, it did! But I hid it subtly, as though wiping away a straying strand that marred my view accidentally.

I hope you get your vital stats enhanced a bit, though...34 won't do!

And thank you for the compliment - it's been a while since someone called me 'decent'. Yes, also the other thing - writing. It happens and if it reached you, then words have been kind with me.

You just sally forth with more and more.
