Jim Miotke's Biography

Jim Miotke studied English Literature and Creative Writing at U.C. Berkeley, with dreams of becomeing the next Great American Novelist. After college, Jim turned to photography for creative expression. This passion led to the development of one of the first Internet communities devoted to photography enthusiasts in 1996. Since launching BetterPhoto.com - the world leader in online photographic education, Jim has written four books, published by Random House and Amphoto:

• The BetterPhoto Guide to Digital Photography
• The BetterPhoto Guide to Digital Nature Photography
• The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Taking Great Photos and
• The BetterPhoto Guide to Photographing Children.

Jim also has produced two educational DVDs: Digital Photography Unleashed and Photographing Kids.

In addition to authoring these DVDs and the popular BetterPhoto guidebook series, Jim served as the host of the successful BetterPhoto Radio Show. An expert in the challenges of building a successful online business, Jim Miotke is well respected as an industry leader.

Both Jim and his wife Denise are avid photographers and the parents of three adorable children.
