When I was a kid, there was a TV show called Hotel. It made a big debut when Bette Davis starred in the pilot, then it got even juicy when Davis dropped out and Anne Baxter-Eve herself-replaced her. For five years, people came to the St. Gregory, fell in love, solved their differences, and went home happy. We saw a burnette Tori Spelling, and two wacky kids protrayed by James Brolin and Connie Selleca fall in love.
I liked the show because it was set in San Francisco. Okay, it was the fakey SF, the touristy SF. However, I was so proud the interiors were of the St. Francis, the flags flapping in the wind. It was so majestic, so lovely. There was part of me that thought someday, when I'm a famous writer, I'll go stay there.
Gentle Readers, dreams come true.
See you on Tuesday with pictures. Maybe I'll even see James Brolin and Connie Selleca.
