First, and primarily, I am a writer. I went to school to better my writing, and stories are what tend to occupy the majority of my brainpower. At any given time, a large handful of characters are running about in there, going about their daily lives, with very little input and control from me.
I am a scholar and student of fiction and literature, and tend to look on everything, from television shows and movies to pulp fiction, with the eye of the literary critic that has been so trained into my psyche that it's a part of how I view the world as a whole.
I am also a gamer. A girl gamer. And a girl geek. I am that girl who can tell you why your computer is running too slow and fix it, who knows her gigabytes from her Google and can explain to you what a D20 is used for, why X-Men comics are an analogue of the civil rights movement (and now the gay rights movement), and just how, exactly, Star Trek: The Next Generation qualifies as an example of existentialism.
I am many things, but first, and always, a writer. All of the other stuff just serves to generate ideas.
I am an avid crafter, doing everything from knitting, crochetting, and needlepoint to costuming and clothing design. I read often and rapidly, quite often finishing a stack of books long before I have the opportunity to make my way to a bookstore or library to replenish my supply, living, as I do, in a rural area where such things are a long drive away. I love video games, particularly PC games, particularly MMORPGs, CRPGs, and RTS type games.
