Under the surface, between the buttons
the echoes of whispers repeating my name
the maiden, the mother, the goddess of wonders
the tripod Apollo illumines the flame.
I come from the great bear, near Cassiopeia
reverberance of nature through earth and through stone
I fly through pure air with eagles and ravens
the owl is my sister. I midwife the sun.
I am the Dragon of Fire and Desert
I am the descendant of volcanic core
snakes, lizards, and salamanders vie with the sand
trying to cover the limited shore.
Where limitless tides and waves rush in all lively
turtles lie basking, watching whales do their dance
the blue-green lights of the ocean lie flashing
lights of the sun to the land, the romance.
