Ever have one of those weeks where it seems as if every time you sit down, your work ethic/ideas/ability to move your fingers across the keyboard instead of just stare at the screen until a line of drool forms at the corner of your mouth (whew) just up and leaves town. Yeah, like that. Welcome to the week that was for me.
(Has anyone in the Midwest noticed that there seem to be a lot more dragonflies around this summer, or am I just noticing something that's always been there?)
I've probably only written about five hundred more words in a short story I'm working on that needs to be done by this November. Fortunately, that's plenty of time. Now if I could just figure out how to get from the middle to the end. In the meantime, I'm polishing up the novel and this past week got some fantastic and encouraging feedback from one of my friends, in addition to the usual weekly feedback from my writing group which is always helpful. That's going to be done soon (by which I mean by the end of this month—there, I've said it, so now I'll do it).
Then there are a lot of other ideas and first drafts waiting in the background to be revised and/or completed. I wish the average day had a few more hours in it.
Even now, I'm rushing to finish writing this down so I can get out the door and go to a yoga class, but when I come back, there's a manuscript in a pile next to my computer and I've got a lot of work to do today.
