My book, Moto Girl, is ready for querying. So far, feedback I've gotten from agents at the San Francisco Writers Conference indicates that mainstream publishing venues may have a bit of trouble figuring out where to market the book. I originally started writing it for adults, then I was advised that it might do well with the young adult audience. Now it seems that, because the protagonist is only 12 years old, teens will not be interested (that middle grade age being passe to to teens who are all wrapped up in being teens). But it's not for twelve year olds either, because the narrative style and the content make it unsuitable for the middle grade audience. Pigeon hole anyone?
