Today's Shoot-Antique Ironstone China Today I took pictures of antique ironstone china.

Luckily I have a friend that collects it and she was gracious enough to let me do a shoot.

Here is the makers mark, Mason was one of the first companies to manufactor ironstone. Orginally it was white, many pieces have a distinctive greyish blue color such as the middle pitcher in the next picture.
Transferware is when they began to add patterns to the china. Patterns were drawn on copper plate then transfered to paper then to the china.
Here are five of the colors, blue, black, cranberry, brown and purple.

Here is a nice variety of color and of the types of dishes and plates available.

Different shaped plates were popular.
