My book, THE GREATEST ESCAPE: Travel the Quantum Path to Personal Freedom, challenges old ideas about therapy and personal growth. It shines a spotlight on the individual as having both the responsibility and the capability of self transformation. Perhaps most revolutionary is the realization that we have a brilliant, internal, personal growth program that is hardwired into our brains. Like computer software, when we learn how to use this program, it does most of the work of bringing about personal change. The two quantum techniques I describe in my book, which are simple but not always easy, tell people how to use this program. These techniques do not include talking about problems and produce immediate results.
My book contributes to a new psychology, Quantum Psychology, which is a combination of Eastern philosophy and Western science, especially quantum mechanics. I tell people how they can become their own counselors, therapists and gurus, which is no small advantage in these financially troubled times. Some of the personal changes many people want are: to heal from past traumatic experiences, stop feeling miserable and enjoy life, have good relationships and find meaning in their lives. My experience is that the biggest impediment to personal growth is no longer how to produce change, but resistence to change.
