Born in Sacramento, Jayson did not do much for the first 30 or so years. Just a whole lot of school. It was Sacramento…’nuff said. But that all changed after Jayson got out of grad school and, realizing he was a writer with nothing to actually write about, moved to San Francisco in 1996. Over the next few years, Jayson would hold jobs such as taxi driver, ticket-taker at a strip club, and cage-dancer in a bondage club.
In 1999, Jayson began publishing on numerous web sites (Salon.com, ChickClick.com, GettingIt.com, etc) and in print (Just 18 Magazine, etc). His first book, Diary of a Viagra Fiend, was published in hardback by Atria/Simon & Schuster in 2004, with paperback following in 2005.
Gallaway has appeared on radio shows such as the Michael Smerconish Show, and television shows such as ABC’s 20/20 and Inside Edition.
