Good fiction writing is really good story-telling. In this practical, hands-on workshop, writers will get the tools they need to write good stories. We’ll talk about how to recognize a story worth telling, how to structure story, and how to make a story unputdownable. Along the way, we’ll study all the elements of fiction—setting, character, dialogue, flash-back—by seeing how other authors do it, and by trying it out ourselves. Expect to learn everything you need to know to write a good story. Janis Cooke Newman is the author of the novel, Mary (which was a Los Angeles Times Book Prize Finalist and Booksense Pick) and the memoir, The Russian Word for Snow.
