At the end of October, I began posting stories on my Red Room blog. Within a very short time, I noticed a lot of people were reading and leaving comments. By "a lot," I mean thousands. Even on the days I didn't write a word, people were still reading and commenting.
At the end of December, I viewed the page entitled, "Editor's Picks" and saw my photograph and a link to a piece I'd posted along with those of twenty-seven other writers, many of whom were women. Several of the pieces chosen had been written by people whose names were unfamiliar just a few weeks earlier, but through Red Room, had become friends.
I've made great new friends on Red Room. We tease each other, play off one another, laugh together, applaud, nurture and console, but most importantly we bring out the best in each other. I've referred to Red Room as the perfect habitat for imaginative souls and described my personal experience as "like playing in a bouncy castle."
We celebrate one another's successes and share our own. I am honored and humbled to be a member of this community.
