Jane Rades was born in Wisconsin on August 14,1942. She moved to San Francisco in 1963 and has lived there ever since except for a year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has traveled to Mali, Madagascar, Peru, India, France,Germany, Austria, England, Turkey, Cambodia, Mexico and Spain. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received a B.A. in Painting from the SanFrancisco Art Institute. In addition to writing she draws, paints and does photography. She has read at local venues in San Francisco and Berkeley, including Bird and Beckett Books, The Beat Museum, the Park Branch Library, Café Prague, Sacred Grounds, Bibliohead Bookstore, Café on Mason, It’s A Grind, Poets In The Trees, and the Poets 11 Series for the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
