I just posted my latest sound poem. http://www.redroom.com/audio/gamboling-18 I am of two minds as to whether to color people's impressions with a descriptive critique. A very big part of my sound poem work is to ignite pre-conceived awareness, where imagination can take reign and offer a portal to where ever the listener wants or needs to go. Craving an adventure? Take a listen. On the other hand, disclaimer flag waving in bright orange, I recognize that my sense of this piece has public validity. So, read no further if you want to first experience unchartered territory. Then, come back here and compare notes!
Gamboling in 18 began as an assemblage of yearning and energetic cravings for a lucky streak. Recordings were made in acrid territory, where gazillions of years ago an ocean sat. This contrast of sustenance lost and dizzyingly driven frenzy prompted me to ground the original assemblage with the play of a seaside village, where people still make their living from water and where the interface of land and water evokes similar frolic, scavenge, and chorus.
