I'm a former software designer, campaign manager, deli clerk, and cow milker. Our family comes from a long line of storytellers so it's only natural that I'd end up writing fiction. After all, we must always tell the truth, but if a little embellishment will make a good story better, why not? And then there's the romance in the air, the dreams, the wispy white curtains floating on the breeze . . . Well, let's just say fiction writing was inevitable.
Currently, I have two books out: Down Home Ever Lovin' Mule Blues and Faery Special Romances. Royaties from the latter go to Children's Tumor Foundation, ending Neurofibromatosis through Research. Here are the book covers:
Influences? Anything I've seen, heard, touched, smelled, or imagined since I came into consciousness.
Authors who've led the way are Mary Renault, Ogden Nash, Louis L'Amour, Maggie Osborne, Kathleen Eagle, and many, many others. Fellow writers Ann Charles and Wendy Delaney from http://1stTurningPoint.com have helped me learn the craft, as has Judith Laik and Sherrie Holmes. All wonderful writers and generous people.
Circumstances that have shaped my voice and viewpoint are my rural upbringing, my technical background, and my stint in politics (as a campaign staffer and manager, not as a candidate!).
I'm currently working on several fantasy stories: one is a romance and another is a YA. The others are waiting for me to get back to them and could swing either way. Also, I have several western historical romances in the drawer, waiting for a home.
