After working as an editor for more than 20 years, I am setting forth to establish a new identity as a poet, political essayist, memoirist, POV writer, and painter/illustrator. I have written and published poetry and essays over the years, in college newspapers and newsletters of various organizations. (I won awards in intercollegiate competitions in the '70s.) My favorite poet is Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and I want to be like him when I grow up!
I am a student of art and artists. I work in oils and pastels. Musically, I love opera and jazz, but my cd collection runs the gamut. My greatest interest (obsession) is my book collection. This collection comprises every genre. I guess my favorite reading subjects are mysteries and literary fiction masterpieces (past and current). I have poetry for breakfast every day. Finally, I am an avid political activist, leaning far to the Left (I''m not merely liberal). I want universal social justice, and this desire most often sparks my muse into action.
