Jacqueline Teng's Biography

Member Info

Dec 2008

A self-acknowledge bookworm and nerd up until college (just missing the glasses - I had to get hard contacts to counter astigmatism), I used to finish a mid-sized novel a day, leaving little time for such frivolous pursuits as socializing. This also translated into various experiments in writing my own prose, and though I have churned out hundreds of pages in various original fiction and fanfiction categories over the years, I had not felt ready to devote time toward developing potentially publishable material until now.

My other interests had run interference for quite some time atop general life events. I am a concert-trained classical pianist as well as a professional graphic artist on occassion. In more recent years, I discovered a talent for photography; something which allowed me to express compositions in a visual medium far more satisfactorily than I ever had in the more traditional artistic techniques which I had dabbled in before. In school, my best subjects had been math and science (ironically, I struggled for a B-average in my English classes all the way up till senior year of high school), and I was an Electrical Engineering & Computer Science major for 5 years before I realized I would not be happy in the role of a full-time programmer and finished, instead, in English, which I had been double-majoring in with a Creative Writing minor tacked on the end.

Most recently, I resigned from a full-time position to move to a constulant's role so that I may have more time to pursue other, personal projects.
