Jacqueline's Blog - New House, New Place, New Resident.. o.O

Our house has been completely redone, taken a 1950's older brick home and converted to a five bedroom house larger, bigger, better and complete it seems with this grumpy old man in Spirit.    How truly wonderful.   Really please don't ever forget that houses are sponges, they retain people's energy and their emotions and it simply seeps into the walls, floors and land.  Living people can love their houses so much, that when they pass they simply remain at some level very attached to what happens to their property.

I wondered whether some of the people in our old house would move on with us and it seems I have seen Timothy here a couple of times just visiting.    He was the son of one of the owners of our old house, just popping in he said to say hello, which I was delighted about because he was such a lovely young man in his 20's when he passed.   He grinned and said "You don't get away that easy"  Laughed like mad and disappeared on me, but brought a delighted smile to my face as well.    Not gone at all.

However, old grumpy pants here is a different matter and is becoming closer and closer on my "things I must sort in my new house list".      I wanted also to give you a wonderful House Blessing that was on the internet, that I use when I move house to clear energy of your "sponge" house and empower it with your own energy.  I love this blessing it is noticeable to both my husband and my children even though I do this when no one is home.

A Prayer For House Blessing

Prayer:

This is a lovely prayer gleaned from Usenet. It could prove useful in any house blessing ritual.

Touch the lintel and touch the wall,
Nothing but blessings here befall!
Bless the candle that stands by itself,
Bless the book on the mantle shelf,
Bless the pillow for the tired head,
Bless the hearth and the light shed.
Friends who tarry here, let them know
A three fold blessing before they go.
Sleep for weariness - peace for sorrow
Faith in yesterday and tomorrow.
Friends who go from here, let them bear
The blessing of hope, wherever they fare.
Lintel and windows, sill and wall,
Nothing but good, this place befall.

I invoke the Goddess of Protection, I invoke my ancestor's spirits.

Three times around, three times about
The world within, the world without.
In home and possessions, may good spirits abound
Evil and problems will not stay around.

I usually carry a candle to each room and ask

"Spirit hear my prayer, raise the candle, let me know you are there"  and the flame lifts each time and I know the room has been blessed.   I continue until all of the house has been done and then play music that I love to fill the house with energy and music at a frequency that resonates with us.

Old grumpy pants who delights in avoiding me but yelling at me since we have been here is about to be tracked down and asked what his problem is.     He particularly is in the back part of the oldest bit of the house, normally this happens simply because it's a place they were more used to than the newer part of the house.    This happens in this case to be one of the children's bedrooms.      Placing a white light protection has removed him from this room to outdoors, simply because he would slam the doors in front of the children and tell them to shut up.   Sighs... amazes me how much some of them retain their "unfortunate" personalities even when passed to the other side.

I was outside mowing the lawn, which was extremely long, when he turned up.   I felt him come in close, slightly wary as he hasn't really summed me up yet and I normally like to find out what the problem is and why they are here before working out whether they are ok to stay or to move on.     I bent to start the lawn mower AGAIN because the grass has been left too long and was startled to hear right behind me "OI!" yelled from about a foot away.    Furious because it startled me so much and already over trying to mow an acre of too long grass with a hand mower.  I swung around with hands on hips and yelled back "You rude old coot, don't you dare sneak up on me and yell and by crikey you slam one more door in the kids faces, I will have your guts for garters".     Deadly silence broken only by smothered laughter, rapidly turning into snorting.

He appeared right in front of me, weathered face and the smell of cigarettes, winked at me.  "Good to see you've got some spunk" he said and chortling disappeared on me again.   Honestly!  Him and I will get to having a talking to very shortly.      In reality he reminds me of my grand father who was an old rogue as well, so I will keep you posted on our newest resident and his antics.  I already know who is and his connection to the house, but have yet to pin the old man down as to WHY he is still here on the property, needless to say the slamming doors have abated a bit, placated by a red-faced, lawn mowing yelling medium... hmm not a pretty look :D

So if you feel your house needs a "celestial clear out of energy" just to spruce it up, or maybe you have moved house?   Give the house blessing  a try.  You may well be very pleasantly surprised with the results.  Choose a day when the family are out or you are just by yourself.   A Spiritual Spring Clean for the place you reside in the most .
