Fomerr UN Secretary General Koffi Anan will be in Kenya as from Sunday according to a statement from the African Union Panel of Eminent African Personalities
During his visit he will meet President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga over lunch and also to check on the progress made on the agreements made during the formation of the coalition government.
On Wednesday, Mr Ocampo also he was coming to Kenya next week to meet President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga over the crucial issue of trying the suspects whose names he has.
Koffi Anan is the one who presented the envelope containing the named of the Post Election Violence Suspects to the Chief Prosecutor at the Hague-Luis Moreno-Ocampo
On Thursday, Justice minister Mutula Kilonzo said the government would not any individual.Kenya so far has an international crimes law which binds it to cooperate with the International Criminal Court at the Hague.
The Government of Kenya will hand over the Suspects which include top politicians and some sitting cabinet ministers.During the dark period of Kenyan history it is estimated that over 600,000 were left homeless while over 1,000 were killed.
Some have been living in the Internally displaced Persons' camps(IDP camps) till recently when the government decided to relocate them.
“Unless Parliament repeals the International Crimes Act or Kenya withdraws from the Rome treaty, there is really no choice but to help Mr Ocampo in his work,” The Justice Minister said.
