The record-breaking freeze in Europe recently commanded world headlines and forces us to question whether we really are in the grip of global warming.
Back in October 2009 Dr Habibullo Abdussamatov, Head of the Space Research Laboratory of the St Petersburg’s Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory, contradicting the popular argument in favour of global warming said “We should fear a deep temperature drop - not catastrophic global warming.”
He explains that, contrary to what many self-appointed climate change ‘experts’ claim (Al Gore’s name in connection with the inconvenient truth about his hockey stick graph instantly springs to mind), “observations of the Sun show that as for the increase in temperature, carbon dioxide is ‘not guilty’ and as for what lies ahead in the upcoming decades, it is not catastrophic warming, but a global, and very prolonged, temperature drop...”
Dr Abdussamatov believes that global warming passed its peak between 1998-2005 and that the global temperature has already begun its decrease. He predicts that by the middle of this century a little ice age will come, mainly affecting the temperate climate regions on Earth, which will give way to a new cycle of global warming by the beginning of the 22nd century.
He is qualified to state this opinion seeing he headed Astrometria, the Russian-Ukranian project measuring temporary variations in certain aspects of the Sun from data gathered on the Service Module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
James Delingpole, British writer, journalist, broadcaster and Telegraph blogger, has also been speaking out against the global warming lobby for years. On 26 September 2010 he posted a blog on The Telegraph under the heading Global Cooling and the New World Order. Check it out.
