Two big celebrity breakups have hit the news since yesterday. Yikes! Let's examine the pieces: Courteney Cox and David Arquette wrote in a statement, "We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply." A source close to Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman declares, "They were very much in love, but over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife. [2-year-old son Max] is their main concern."
These statements are no different than what you yourself may have said (or would say) to inquisitive family and friends at the time of a split. Both statements essentially translate to, "We're having problems. I don't want to trash my spouse in public (yet!). The reason the sexual magic is gone is A) we haven't yet figured out but we're trying, or B) we know why and it's none of your business."

By the way, Gina Misiroglu of Red Room put me in touch with the PopEater/AOL people, which is one of the great ways she's bringing traffic to Red Room and getting attention for Red Room's authors.
