Ida's Blog

My third book, 'What Was In Jeremy's Egg?', includes a poem I had written after my brother's death in 1962. The title is THE BIRD OF DEATH.
The bird of death? It hovered here
And gently brushed its wing
Across a shoulder strong and lean
For is not youth the king?
We cried; we could not let him go
Yet God, His ways unknown
Whispered to our loved one’s soul
Then took it to His own.
This was the first of many deaths in our family. I've written about many of them in my other books.
