Hey everyone, I was so inspired by a blog entry frequent blogger and supportive member Nancy Smith posted last Thursday about "Red Room cheerleaders." According to Nancy, they're Red Roomers who...well, she says it best:
"These persons are the ones who scan through the blogs and read many of them. They are the ones who also comment on some of the blogs as well. Further, they often start a dialogue about the subject. They make connections with the other members even though they have never personally met except online."
December 3rd is the second annual Giving Tuesday, a movement that balances the day we give thanks (Thanksgiving Day) and the day we get deals (Black Friday) with a day to give to charity. Nancy's post and all of last year's Giving Tuesday success stories combined to convince me to do a little pitch for our community.
This page doesn't get the attention I think it deserves, so I thought I would talk about it here. Red Room provides free Community Memberships to people of any income, so they can create a beautiful online home, blog, store their multimedia content online, and share their thoughts with the world. We create opportunities for teachers, students, librarians, parents, children, aspiring writers, and everyday readers to connect with their favorite authors and with each other.
Reading, writing, and important conversations can transform individuals and whole societies. We’re building an online community with the power to change the world. If you’re a Community Member or a Founding Author, or a frequent visitor and reader, and you enjoy our free services, we ask that you show your appreciation for Red Room by donating as little as $5 per month. The financial support of our members is crucial.
We're grateful for the brilliant writing, buoyant conversations, and book marketing and selling that go on on Red Room every day, and truly appreciate your support. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
