I have never slowed down because of age. In fact, the opposite is true--since I turned 50 I have really speeded up. I have never really wondered what I will do with the rest of my life but I know that is not true for everyone and that's why this book is so helpful. You get answers to the important questions--how to use retirement years productively, how to keep good health, etc, etc. This is Marvin Tolkin's own story and he gives it to us in a witty and entertaining manner. The book is essentially a first aid kit for the latter years (I hate that expression).
Tolkin doesn't talk to us, he talks with us and he tells wonderful stories. I felt like my father was still around telling me what to do but Tolkin is much gentler than my dad was. Tolkin gives guidance, advice and inspiration and he is a great person to have as a mentor. His experiences are real and human and his humor is wonderful. Tolkin is a great storyteller. He followed his passions and show us how to do the same. And Tolkin deals with all of life and tells us that we should not wait to do the things we want to do There is a lot of helpful information here and after reading the book, you will probably look at life differently.
