Heather L. Reid is Professor of Philosophy at Morningside College. Her books and articles inhabit the intersection between ancient philosophy, ancient athletics, Olympic studies, and philosophy of sport. She is the author of The Philosophical Athlete (2002), Athletics and Philosophy in the Ancient World: Contests of Virtue (2011), Aretism: An Ancient Sports Philosophy for the Modern, Sports World (with M. A. Holowchak)(2011), and The Philosophy of Sport (2012). She is the editor of The Olympics and Philosophy (with M.W. Austin) (2012), co-editor of the book series “Ethics and Sport” at Routledge Press, and serves on the boards of the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport andSport, Ethics and Philosophy.
