Warning: Rant in progress.
This happened in Bergenfield on Monday (5/7). I was putting stuff in my car about 5:30 PM. It was raining and a UPS truck pulled up. The driver took out a large cardboard carton and delivered it to my neighbor. I watched him drop it on her steps and get back in to the truck. He didn't ring her bell nor did he knock on her door. He dropped the box and left. In the rain. I knocked on her door and helped her move it inside.
This is the second time it happened to her in the space of two weeks. Previously, she discovered a box on her steps in the morning as she opened the door to go out. It had been there all night.
This has also happened to me several times in the past. On one memorable occasion, I found a UPS delivered box on my porch in the morning when I went outside to get the paper. Since it had snowed during the night, the box was under a blanket of wet snow.
Now you know why I never use UPS. I use the post office or Fed Ex
