Faux News Network political reporter Stacy Conundrum filed this report from Washington about the Second Amendment.
Today, Senator Joshua Blowhard (R) introduced legislation to change the Second Amendment, the one that protects gun rights.
"It is essential," Senator Blowhard explained, "that we revise this Amendment to reflect modern conditions. Our glorious forefathers declared that citizens had the right to bear arms. Unfortunately, those honorable men didn't have the foresight to understand that 'arms' could be mis-interpreted."
Blowhard continued, "it's only a matter of time until one of my bleeding-heart colleagues will introduce a bill to outlaw assault rifles because of the actions of one maniac who apparently didn't like a new movie. My bill will change the word 'arms' to 'assault rifles'. This will guarantee our citizens the right to buy assault rifles so those citizens can defend their homes and critique movie openings."
An NRA spokesman had this to say about Senator Blowhard's legislation. "The NRA strongly objects to this deeply flawed legislation. The amendment should be charged to read '... Right to bear assault rifles with large magazines and unlimited ammunition.' After all, what's the sense of buying an assault rifle if it can only have an eight round clip. That's no fun at all. The NRA demands that this important legislation be passed as fast as possible before the left-wing, gun-hating, non-hunting wimps try to ban assault rifles."
FNN will post updates to this important issue whenever we receive them.
