A spokesperson for the House Republican leadership at a press conference this morning announced that the House was tired of waiting for the Administration and the Senate to take the lead and propose important legislative initiatives. Therefore, the House today filed legislation to recognize genuine American resources and customs.
The new legislation will declare a national rock (coal) and a national liquid (petroleum). Once the legislation is passed, the use of coal and mining and petroleum extracting must remain at 2010 levels as long as the resource exists.
Additional legislation will identify a national disease (obesity) a national foodstuff (sugar) a national germ, yet to announced and a national geographical section (the Southern States) a natioanl fungus, not yet identified, a national disgrace (NSA).
The spokesperson said, "These new initiatives demonstrate that the Republican House members are serious about getting America back on the right track. The citizens of the country can be grateful that at least one part of the government has their best interests in mind and is dedicated to making America a better place to live."
