FNN's political reporter, Stacy Conundrum, reports from Tampa that a Taliban mullah from Pakistan will speak in a secret session to Party leaders at the convention. The mullah, unidentified since he will be in the country illegally for the two days, will explain the Taliban's views on controlling women. Many Republican delegates feel that, on women's rights issues, the Taliban are leading the way.
One delegate from New Jersery who know of the secret session expressed excitement. "The Taliban can teach us so much," he told Stacy. "They are world leaders in suppressing women and we need to understand their philosophy and their methods."
Another delegate said he hoped the mullah wouldn't restrict his report to women's issues. "They stone adulterers and murder homosexuals. It's important that our Party study their ways. Exepecially the one where they publically lash disobedient women. I think that is something Romney should implement on Day One of his Presidency. I know a lot of Democrat and Independent women who need a lashing."
A third said, "The Taliban have such enlightened views on many of the social issues that trouble American society. We have to adopt their solutions. It's the only way for America to regain our lost rightousness."
Stacy further reports that she is following up on a rumor that the mullah will join Romney's campaign staff. The staff plans to equip him with high-tech communication equipment so that he can be contacted where ever he is in Pakistan or Afghanistan to get his views and advice.
FNN will continue to monitor this breaking news story.
