"The $2 Million Cough" recounts the brief, incendiary, often bizarre history of what was once the fastest-growing company on the Internet. Nine months after it's founding in March 1999, AllAdvantage.com had over 500 full-time employees in 26 offices in four countries and nearly 7 million registered members.
Almost exactly one year after the company launched, it was on the verge of going public when the so-called "dot-com bubble" burst. 10 months later, the doors were permanently closed and the assets were autioned off.
This is not a biz school case study. It is an anecdotal account of a group of people who did some amazing things while operating at 'Internet speed.'
