My new book, No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power, will be officially published on October 5, but I'm wildly excited to tell you--it's available for pre-order right now.
No Excuses took 18 months to write, but a lifetime of experience in life and leadership. I had planned to announce it properly along with my new, improved website via newsletter way before now. But the website is still "under construction" and I'm still wrestling my email contacts lists to the ground.
So I decided to follow my own advice. Number #3 of the 9 Ways reminds me to use what I've got:
• My publisher, Seal Press, made a very cool postcard that gives you a sneak preview of the book. Please enjoy and share it far and wide.
• People like you, who understand stuff happens, or doesn't, and are very forgiving. Thank you. And please help me out here: what do you do when the linchpin of your project is behind schedule?
• A cheering section of supportive sisters at SheWrites.com, where I'm chronicling my "Countdown to Publication." Go there if you want more gory details. And definitely go join up if you're a woman and a writer--a richer trove of resources for writers can't be found anywhere.
• My passionate belief that this is a hopeful and historic moment for women. From the boardroom to the bedroom, nobody is holding us back now except ourselves. The 9 Ways give specific power tools and tips women can use to lead unlimited lives. I'm looking forward to sharing them all with you over the next months with this newsletter and on my website and Heartfeldt blog.
