I might have botched this quote I saw on a card, but you get the idea. And you probably noted the new Take The Lead logo on my photo.
Today, I'm writing to tell you about Take The Lead and invite you to join me in this catalytic new movement to prepare, develop, inspire, and propel women to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025. I'm honored to be Take The Lead's co-founder and president.
Why? Because despite earning 57% of college degrees and being half the workplace, women have been stalled at under 20% of top positions for two decades, and at the rate we're going it will take 70 years to reach parity. That's too slow. I believe we can change it. Take The Lead co-founder and board chair, Amy Litzenberger and I have set forth a plan to do it. See how here.
It's no accident I'm sending you this newsletter on Equal Pay Day, the date each year when the gender pay gap is announced. We can change that too. In fact, we can start by changing the narrative from problems to solutions.
