Influences
I come from a creative, nature-oriented family. My father made his living writing westerns and young reader adventure novels. My mother was an artist. One grandfather wrote popular western novels and for the Saturday Evening Post, while my other grandfather was director of the San Diego Natural History Museum. I have two brothers: one is a photographer and the other a small press publisher of acclaimed natural history books.
