Gina Willner-Pardo was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a writer. She received a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. While raising two children, she began to write professionally. Now the author of 17 books for children, she continues to be glad that she didn't do anything with the M.B.A.
Willner-Pardo's novels examine the real lives kids live today. Her middle-grade novel, FIGURING OUT FRANCES (Clarion), won the 1999 Josette Frank Award from the Bank Street College of Education. Her upcoming novel, PRETTIEST DOLL (Clarion), is about a girl who competes in child beauty pageants.
Willner-Pardo lives in California with her partner, Robert. When she isn't writing, she likes to jog on the beach and track her kids' Facebook pages.
