Sara Jane has surfaced!
Sara Jane arrested in 1975

Sara Jane Moore called my publisher last week. She said my book was all lies and she wants her art  collection back. The collection is about 35 pieces of art I have been keeping for her since 1986.

This is the first we have heard from her since she was released from federal prison Dec. 31, 2007.

I've been trying to find her since she got out, but using any tools at my disposal, I could not find her. I expected her to get in touch with me so we could arrange to get it back to her, but the call never came.

My editor spoke with her and tried to get a phone number or address. No dice.

Sara wanted my phone number, but the publisher does not give out this information. So, stalemate. There was no way to connect us.

I am a little surprised as Sara has known my Bay Area contact information for 15 years. I'm so easy to find...even if she didn't have it any longer, she knows where I live..she can just call information.

She told Palgrave she would call back the next day, or a representative of hers wouldcall to make the arrangements.

Somehow, I'm not surprised we have not heard back. I'm disappointed, but she is nowhere to be found.

Bizarre!

If this tale were a spy novel, I'd be going over the surfaces, backings, and frames of those paintings.  Who knows what that might reveal.

   [What was Sara's taste like?]
