You just had to ask that, didn't you? But, you see, you've cut to the central neurosis if the whole thing. It's so much easier to distract us both with reveries and agonies about the process of writing than to engage directly with what I'm supposed to be writing--and to open myself to your comments and quibbles in the process. But I know there's no way to work effectively on the book unless I can hold the essence of it in my head and describe it in not too many words. Just let me catch my breath first...
