Hi Folks! Happy New Year to you all. 2011 has brought me a renewed sense of enthusiasm and hopefulness for the unforeseen possibilities that float around in my subconscious mind. This year I am taking action. The idea of pursuing my creative writing interests has always been a "someday" kind of sentiment. So I say to myself, "girl, time to get cracking." 

 But where to begin? The conclusion I came to was simple enough: start writing. So I'm forging my way out of my private journals of personal reflection and into the public domain of an online writing community. My goal is to write, and as my undergrad creative writing class instructor suggested, I will start with what I know. Short stories, poems, songs, and reflections to follow. 

I welcome your comments, feedback, and criticisms. I am not yet sure of the ways of the Red Room, but I am happy to be here.
