Hello everyone. Today’s post focuses on you, my readers. You‘ve made it through a rough winter, and soon, instead of wearing a heavy coat while outside, you will be wearing suntan oil instead, as you frolic on the beach! But what is going on inside your body – specifically your mind? Are you living up to your full potential, being the best person you can be? Is money the only thing that drives you to wake up each and every day? Do you stare at the clock at work, waiting for 5:00PM to arrive, so you can finally go home? And, once you get there, are you a couch potato, doing nothing but watching television, as you wonder if there is more to life than this? Only you know the true answers to the above questions and if you are stuck in a rut. However, it doesn‘t have to be that way, since nobody but you controls how you feel, what you think, and what you do on a daily basis. You might want to try a few simple things to get yourself motivated, which, in turn, can lead to increased happiness. Start your day off by exercising. After a good night‘s sleep, wake up refreshed and ready to take on the world! If you can devote at least 45 minutes a day to an exercise regimen – walking, jogging, yoga, pilates, weight training, or even simple calisthenics – and you don‘t even necessarily need to go to a gym or buy expensive equipment, you will see not only an increase in your physical fitness, but an uptick in your psychological and mental health as well. This, in turn, will give you a more positive outlook on your own self-image, which will result in higher confidence and self-esteem. Next, make sure you always eat healthy, and treat your body like the “temple“ it is, and you will be ready to take on the world! Maintaining a smile on your face, even when things may not be going as well as you would like, has also been proven to increase one‘s health, so why not subscribe to this idea yourself? If nothing else, people will notice, and you will be thought of as someone who is approachable and gives off an aura of kindness. Finally, make it a habit to write, whether it is a letter, birthday card to a loved one or friend, or even a diary or journal. This is an immeasurable way to stay connected to others, as well as yourself. You can chart the progress you have made in your attempts to become a better, more fulfilled human being, and you will open your mind up to unlimited possibilities, simply by being honest with yourself, as you put your thoughts and feelings down on paper. If you follow the above steps and suggestions, your life can change for the better. But this is only the beginning, as the potential to be the best human being you can be will just be starting to surface. You weren‘t put on Earth to experience a mundane existence. No, you were born to thrive in life, so take a look at yourself in the mirror, and like what you see. Then, go out there and make a difference in the world. You can do it!
