In the' proverbial' garden of good and evil where the 'good' and 'bad' seeds planted yesterday and a hundred yesterdays co-exist right next to each other,I am able to glimpse perhaps how and why our present president has attributed some of his vision and successful run for office to the founding fathers who constructed documents like "The Constitution" and "The Emancipation Proclamation" two obviously good seeds created in the midst of two evil ones;Slavery (or to be P.C'.Indentured Servitude') and the Civil War, both grown side by side in the balance of nature.
I fear that if the practice of 'discrimination and oppression' had gone unchecked for another century democracy itself might have gone the way of another unyielding,'unmovable- object' known as communism.Yet, as we speak mankind holds the capability to abolish poverty and other social ills,or abolish all forms of life at the push of a button. And if the seeds planted in the last administration don't completely strangle those being planted by the present administration "Hope will Survive".
But remember the proverb in Matthew 13 where 'seeds' (ideas, plans, projects stimulus packages)planted on the stoney/thorney ground of a dysfunctional economy at the end of the day just succumb to the greater forces at work in the market place. As the hundreds of billions squandered and spent/sent to the numbered bank accounts of Hailiburton,Homeland Secuirty, Defense Contractors and their greedy share-holders,are used to control the direction of this country for the next two or three decades; No matter what new proposals get enacted by Mr. Obamas' admisistration.
We need to devise a system in which steady employement is more rewarding that creating or contributing to corporate greed; where corporate downsizing and, employee cutts and lay-offs and inturn force the goverment to deplict finacial resources by spending more on unemployment benifits.
