Today I got up the nerve to call small bookstores and pitch my book. Well, can I tell you I was so nervous. I must have fumbled over my own name. I forgot how to speak Spanish. Seriously, I couldn't even take down a telephone number. It was pathetic to say the least.
I have to say small bookstore owners were very friendly and not judgemental at all. I even asked one how I did and he was honest. He said I did okay, but he had no idea what the title of the book was or the author or if it was for teens or adults. Pretty much I flunked.
But, he helped me out and told me the best way to approach a bookseller and what information he was looking for. In the end he said he would like to see information for the book so he could order it.
Now I only have 10 more on my list to go...(wish me luck.)
