So I'm like, sitting in this little lunch place in this upper middle class setting, and drinking coffee and there are these, like, three young women talking nearby. Between the music and the distance I can only make out part of what they're saying. But I'm trying really hard not to mind my own business and get the dialogue down.
But it's all like, really negative. They're talking about other young women, who aren’t with them. I only catch phrases. They're all like, telling short stories to each other about recent social interactions. Then after each description they characterize the interaction with labels ( "weird," "disgusting.") And then they're all like, philosophical, saying stuff like "she's so insecure" and "I think she's jealous of me."
And while I'm like, being all negative myself and stuff, next time I'll get all like down on young men instead, don’t worry, and how young men like kind of roo-roo and grunt and things. And I'm all like, I hate feeling like this crabby old guy listening to this stuff. I just wish they could have been a little nicer.
