Favorite Books

Anna Karenina, The Master and Margarita, Dr. Zhivago, The Persian Boy, The Far Pavilions, Brothers Karamazov, Embers, all of Barbara Tuchman's books, all of Kafka.

What I'm Reading

A friend discovered for me "A Russian Journal" by John Steinbeck, written in 1946 based on his 40 day trip through Soviet Union when the Iron Curtain was still warm. Fascinating. In some ways nothing has changed. This was new to me.
