Is anyone in RR an authority in Feline Systemic Mast Cell Disease?
Here's hoping someone in RR is a shaman or miracle worker regarding cats, or perhaps has stumbled on an effective homeopathic treatment regimen for Mast Cell Diseae. Our beloved 9 year-old pet was just diagnosed with systemic Mast Cell Disease. And, as I type, he is in surgery at UC Davis Vet School Hospital in Davis, CA. In to remove his spleen, which might afford him a year longer to live. Alas, in surgery, he was found to have a ruptured duodenum which necessitates bowel bypass surgery as well. Tumor secretion of histamine increases gastric acid production and thus ulcer formation.
"Cricket" began vomiting 1-3 times a day a couple weeks ago, thus we initiated a work up that has led to the surprise unveiling of this tragic circumstance.
When is a house cat more than a cat? When you love it.
Animals lovers will understand our staggering grief. I won't be attentive to Red Room for awhile.
