Greetings! If you like a festive occasion -- and like poetry -- and like to support a worthy cause, have I got the event for you! This Friday evening (tomorrow!), you can satisfy all three impulses at once.
Fordham University's new literary and multi-media magazine, CURA, helmed by the ever-fabulous Sarah Gambito, is hosting a Reading Gala to benefit Covenant House, an organization that provides shelter for homeless children and runaways. The whole first year of the journal has sought to raised awareness about Covenant House and the issues related to its mission, as a part of CURA's own mission of bringing the arts and social justice activism together.
Joseph Legaspi, Dennis Barton, and I will be sharing our work. I hope some of you in the NYC area will be able to come out and join us in celebrating poetry and art, while simultaneously contributing to the care of young people who might otherwise be in/on the streets. You'll find details in the embedded link above or here on my upcoming events page. I'd love to see you!
