The magazine has been out of print for a while. My last copy of the issue in question disappeared in a divorce, remarriage, move. I kept checking back at Amazon and Google and today it turned up. I'm incredibly happy. Imagine not having copies of your first published work. - and it was a hefty piece for me. I ordered it, along with several other books in my cart (who can resist the cart?) and can hardly wait for it to arrive, hopefully in good condition. It's like getting back together with a college sweetheart - no wait - this is so much better.
Other updates: yes, I know it's been a long time since I've been here. My Kimmel Harding Nelson residency will be in March/April 2012 in Nebraska. I'll have to check on the weather there in spring. There's a tornado room in the basement.
A personal essay of mine will be published in Ariel Gore's anthology 'Apolcalypse' in 2012. Very excited for this. I've always admired Ariel's work - whether her zine, her memoirs, her nonfiction or her anthologies.
My husband is in Haiti at the moment - filming and taking photos for PIH, Mercy Corps and a nonprofit of physicians out of Texas. Please check out his website: www.adambacher.com.
Best of all, I'll be meeting him in Miami in December and we're driving out to Key West for a holiday.
That's the news for now.
