Eve had a chance to peddle kanji at the Oakland Museum's Lunar New Year Festival in January 2009. Here, right before the festival starts, she's all set up and ready to go. The piles of paper were still neat; child-sized hurricanes hadn’t yet blown through! On the right, there's a Buddha board. When you draw on it with water, the writing comes out inky-black, then fades in a few minutes. That's what’s happening to 新 (atara(shii): new) and whatever was written up top.
